Taxonomic history

Originally described as Parnassius hide Koiwaya ssp. qamdensis Nose, 1990
Treated as a subspecies of Parnassius (Koramius) hide Koiwaya, 1987 by Weiss (1992: 90).


P. hide Koiwaya has been treated as a separate species by Chou (1994), Sorimachi (1995), and Weiss (1992); here, it is regarded as conspecific with P. patricius with which it is closely related and from which it is geographically separated [C. Häuser].
