Taxonomic history

Originally described as Parnassius delphius Eversmann subsp. macdonaldi Rothschild, 1918
Treated as a subspecies of Parnassius acdestis Gr. Gr. by Eisner (1933: 169). Treated as a subspecies of Koramius acdestis (Grum-Grshimailo, 1890) by Bryk (1935: 578). Treated as a subspecies of Parnassius (Koramius) acdestis Grum-Grshimailo, 1891 by Weiss (1992: 96). Synonymized with P. acdestis whitei Bingham by Kawasaki (1996: 30).
