Treated as a species of Parnassius Latreille, 1805 by Kirby (1871: 512). Treated as a species of Parnassius Latr. by Stichel (1907: 21). Treated as a subspecies of Parnassius eversmanni Ménétriés by Bang-Haas (1927: 7). Treated as a subspecies of Parnassius eversmanni Ménétriés, 1855 by Ackery (1975: 84), Fujioka et al. (1997: 149), and Iwamoto & Inomata (1998: 45). Treated as a possibly distinct species of Parnassius Latreille, 1804 (Driopa Korshunov, 1988) or as possibly conspecific with Parnassius (Driopa) eversmanni Ménétriés, 1855 by Häuser (1993: 138). Treated as a species of Parnassius Latreille, 1804 by Tuzov et al. (1997: 138).
