Taxonomic history

Originally described as Parnassius eversmanni Ménétriés subsp. meridionalis Eisner, 1978
Treated as a synonym of Parnassius eversmanni thor Edwards, 1881 by Miller & Brown (1981: 55), Fujioka et al. (1997: 150), and Iwamoto & Inomata (1998: 41).

Remarks

Permanently invalid as a junior primary homonym of Parnassius apollo meridionalis Pagenstecher, 1909. The name pinkensis Gauthier, 1984 has been proposed as an objective replacement name.
