Treated as a species of Battus Scopoli, 1777 by Munroe (1961: 47). Treated as a synonym of Battus zetides Munroe, 1971 by Racheli & Pariset (1992: 49). Treated as a synonym of Battus zetides (Munroe, 1971) by Tyler et al. (1994: 28), and Lamas (2004: 91).

Remarks

Original description not seen / checked! Permanently invalid as junior primary homonym of Papilio zetes Linnaeus, 1758. The name zetides Munroe, 1971 has been proposed as an objective replacement name.
