Originally described as Parnassius simo sub-sp. lorimeri Tytler, 1926
Treated as a subspecies of Parnassius simo Gray by Wyatt (1960: 18). Treated as a subspecies of Parnassius simo Gray, 1852 by Weiss (1991: 14). Treated as conspecific with Parnassius boedromius Püngeler, 1901 by Roberts (2001: 41).
