Taxonomic history

Originally described as Parnassius sp. patricius Niepelt, 1911
Treated as a species of Parnassius Fabricius, 1775 (Doritis Fabricius, 1807) by Munroe (1961: 40). Treated as a species of Parnassius Latreille, 1804 by Ackery (1975:87), Hancock (1983: 46), Lukhtanov & Lukhtanov (1994: 33), and Tuzov et al. (1997: 140). Treated as as species of Parnassius by Rose (1992: 119). Treated as a species of Parnassius (Koramius) by Weiss (1992: 85). Treated as a species of Parnassius Latreille, 1804 (Koramius Moore, 1902) by Häuser (1993: 138).

Remarks

The listing of a female "holotype" by Bryk (1935:570), and by Eisner (1958; 1966) could be taken as effective lectotype designation for this taxon.
