Additional information: "Lectotype ♂: [East Africa]: 'Lagos' (Hewitson, 1872: 147), BMNH Sepc.Reg. No. 220097 - here designated.", "In his catalogue of Hewitson's collection, Kirby (1879) lists only one specimen, from Lagos. That specimen is now in the BMNH, which it reached as part of the Hewitson bequest (BMNH Spec.Reg. 1879-69), and where it was labelled as 'Type H.T.' by a previous curator, which is why we designate it as lectotype." (Smith & Vane-Wright, 2001: 540-541).
