Additional information: "I designate herein as its lectotype a female in BMNH with the following labels: 'Venezuela / Moritz', 'Hyposticta Mor.', 'Felder / Colln.', 'Rothschild / Bequest / B.M. 1939-I.', 'Type', 'Leco- / type', 'Lectotype / Leptalis hyposticta / C. & R. Felder / Lamas ‘77'" (Lamas, 2004: 26).

Taxonomic history

Originally described as Leptalis species hyposticta Felder & Felder, 1861
Treated as a species of Dismorphia Hübner, 1816 by Lamas (2004: 99).

Remarks

In the original description, the name is attributed to Moritz as "Leptalis hyposticta Moritz in litt.". Lectotype designated by Lamas (2004: 26).
