Remarks

Original description not seen / checked! Originally described as a subspecies of P. acco, later placed with rothschildianus or przewalskii (e.g., Bryk 1935), and subsequently also treated as a separate species (e.g., Weiss 1992); more recently, however, regarded by most authors again as conspecific with P. acco (Ackery 1975, Eisner 1976, Inaoka & Sugisawa 1997, Shinkai 1997, Sorimachi 1994a, Sorimachi 1995, Weiss 1992).
